Public Hearing Notice
TAKE NOTICE that the Borough of Rumson has contacted the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Green Acres Program, proposing an after-the-fact diversion of parkland within the Jumping Point Park located at the end of Old Rumson Road in connection with the New Jersey American Water (NJAW) Shrewsbury River – Rumson to Sea Bright Water Main Crossing project and the New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) Sea Bright Reinforcement Project.
The water and gas mains were installed in the spring of 2017. Approximately 0.005 acres will be diverted for the installation of the drinking water main and 0.005 acres for the natural gas distribution main.
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq., N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.8(a), and in consideration of Executive Order No. 103 issued by Governor Murphy on March 9, 2020 declaring a State of Emergency in the State of New Jersey, a scoping hearing to obtain public comment on this request will be held electronically only. Public comment on this diversion request will be accepted during the scoping hearing or until July 30, 2020.
