Chief Paterson Closing in on Milestone
with 2020 Polar Bear Plunge
As he has every year for nearly a decade, Rumson Police Chief Scott Paterson is preparing for the Polar Bear Plunge to be held February 22, 2020 in Seaside Heights.
The Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside is a fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics New Jersey, which for over 50 years has provided year-round sports training, competition, leadership opportunities, and health screenings to more than 26,000 athletes. Special Olympics New Jersey is a life-changer for the athletes and their friends, families, and communities.
Chief Paterson has twice been honored as the individual that raised the most funds in a given year, and this year he has the chance to reach a total of $100,000 raised throughout his decade-long support of Special Olympics New Jersey.
“Once again I would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents of Rumson, who so graciously support me every year in my efforts to raise money for the Special Olympic Polar Bear Plunge in Seaside. Without your support and that of others, I would not be able to contribute the way I have been blessed to do so over the last several years, and for that I am forever grateful. I am once again asking for your support.“
