The Borough of Rumson, along with nineteen other nearby towns, is a member of Monmouth County Regional Health Commission No. 1.
One of the functions of the Board of Health is to appoint the Registrar of Vital Statistics, who in turn appoints the Deputy Registrar. Both must attend classes provided by the State to obtain certification.
